Job summary

CEC Controls is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to guide our Michigan Process Controls group. Lead technically across design, startup, testing, and implementation for water/wastewater projects, ensuring on-time delivery and high quality.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with clients, and drive standardization of processes and platforms across teams while supporting business development and proposal efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant work experience with a technical degree
• 10+ years of experience in the process automation (instrumentation and controls) industry
• PLC programming across RSLogix/Studio 5000, Siemens Step 7 (TIA Portal), Opto22 PAC Control
• HMI/SCADA applications such as FactoryTalk View, Ignition, VTScada, Wonderware, iFIX, PAC Display, Groov View
• Designing electrical control panels per UL508A standards and associated hardware/network specs
• Knowledge of hazardous locations (e.g., Class I, Division 1/2) and industrial instrumentation

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across multiple process automation projects in water/wastewater.
• Design automation control systems from customer specs (PLC, panels, SCADA, OT networks).
• Program automation and control systems involving PLCs and HMIs.
• Develop electrical and P&ID drawings and specify equipment and instrumentation.
• Lead startup, debugging, FAT/SAT, and on-site commissioning activities.
• Drive standardization of design platforms and project execution.
• Coordinate with customers and interface with clients to resolve issues.
• Prepare estimates, review specifications, and support business development.
