Job summary

NerdWallet is seeking an hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the Consumer Credit Cards team. You’ll set technical direction, mentor 3–4 engineers, and partner with product, data, and SEO to deliver high‑quality web experiences at scale.

You’ll drive AI-enabled development workflows, architecture decisions, and a modern dev harness, balancing quality with delivery velocity while ensuring security and observability across the stack.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with hands-on leadership.
• Expertise in TypeScript, React and Node.js; modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience architecting backend APIs and microservices for scalability and data integrity.
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and people outcomes for the Consumer Credit Cards team.
• Drive architecture, planning, and milestones for the product.
• Develop and evolve AI dev harness and agentic automations across the lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers with 1:1s, growth plans, and performance management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across organization to drive value.
