FMI’s Strategy Practice is seeking a high-energy, motivated Consultant to join its growing Energy & Power team. The Consultant supports delivering client engagements by linking research and data to insights and recommendations. This full-time role offers locations in multiple U.S.

cities or remote work, with travel ~35% depending on client needs. Reporting to Senior Consultants or Principals, you will help drive workstream execution, participate in client sessions, and build project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in consulting or related field; energy sector exposure is a plus.
• Ability to synthesize large, disparate data sets and connect research to client-ready insights and recommendations.
• Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, facilitation, and listening skills.
• Project management skills, including stakeholder management, deliverable tracking, schedule adherence, and budget awareness.
• Experience working with various internal or external stakeholders, especially in strategy/change/capital projects environments.
• Demonstrated maturity and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams in managing client engagements, tracking milestones, coordinating communications, and delivering high-quality work.
• Drive assigned workstream execution, draft meeting agendas, and incorporate client feedback.
• Review and synthesize research and large data sets to identify insights and translate findings into client-ready reports and recommendations.
• Prepare and proof client deliverables for accuracy, clarity, and quality, in collaboration with analysts and leadership.
• Facilitate client meetings, workshops, and workstream sessions to build consensus and drive alignment.
• Contribute to solutions improving execution, organizational effectiveness, and financial results, and support change adoption.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients and FMI’s Client Manager.
• Develop energy and power sector expertise and grow FMI’s practice through research and thought leadership.
