Job summary

Rate, a leading retail mortgage lender, seeks a Mortgage Loan Officer to own the end-to-end loan process—from gathering documents to closing. You’ll collaborate with Loan Officers to deliver a smooth client experience and ensure compliance with policy and regulations.

Responsibilities include reviewing loan files, managing the process in mortgage software, meeting deadlines, and delivering excellent service to borrowers in the Charlotte, NC area while remote work is possible.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of recent experience in the residential mortgage industry – Conventional, FHA, and VA.
• Excellent disposition, mindset, communication skills, and work ethic.
• Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong listening, problem-solving skills, and out-of-the-box thinking.
• An inherent love of and desire to serve clients and create something unique and fantastic.
• A commitment to integrity and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Review each loan file to verify documents are present, accurate, and complete before underwriting.
• Manage loan process through mortgage software system.
• Ensure that loan rules, obligations, and deadlines are met.
• Audit and prepare quality files that meet closing objectives.
• Obtain mortgage loan documentation for clients.
• Work closely with Loan Officers to ensure a timely and accurate experience for clients.
• Scheduling and tracking of closing dates, contingency dates, and loan lock expirations.
• Review loan approvals and address all conditions required for underwriting and closing.
• Receive ongoing training and become an expert on home loan products and the mortgage process.
• Prepare and submit timely and accurate loan files to the Closing Department.
• Use state-of-the-art technology to manage your loan pipeline and conduct credit and underwriting analysis.
• Provide world-class customer service and consultative guidance to clients.
