Job summary

Fuse Energy seeks an Embedded Software Engineer in the US to design, build, and scale the connectivity of our distributed energy devices. You will work across firmware, hardware, and backend teams to enable secure provisioning, resilient communication, and production-ready systems.

You will contribute to secure boot flows, firmware updates, and fleet telemetry while collaborating on device security, testing, and certification activities. This hands-on role emphasizes practical problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems with RTOS experience.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain connectivity across Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, Thread, Zigbee and BLE.
• Build and optimise secure device messaging (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP, WebSockets) and time sync.
• Contribute to secure boot, key provisioning, and hardware-backed identity.
• Create signed firmware update pipelines including OTA updates and rollback.
• Integrate devices with cloud IoT platforms and backend services; improve telemetry and observability.
• Support field operations, debugging fleet issues and resilience.
• Assist with test plans and certification artefacts; collaborate across hardware and software teams.
