Qualifications

  • License: active Professional Geologist license issued by Pennsylvania State Registration Board.
  • Active PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Permit Review: Evaluate mining-related permit applications and prepare technical recommendations and decisions.
  • Field Investigation: Conduct site surveys and coordinate findings with engineering and inspection staff.
  • Impact Analysis: Assess geologic and hydrologic data to determine effects on water resources and develop solutions.
  • Technical Evaluation: Study site stratigraphy, structure, and geochemistry to support complex permit determinations.
  • Water Protection: Review groundwater and surface water data to safeguard water supplies and assess replacement needs.
