Job summary

The Opportunity Alliance in South Portland, ME is hiring full-time Call Specialist(s) for 211 Maine. You will handle calls, texts and emails, document thoroughly, and provide compassionate guidance to connect people with essential services.

Training may require on-site attendance with some remote flexibility discussed during interview. Position is full-time, 40 hours per week with a 24-hour program; on-site orientation is required, and remote work may be discussed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Ability to obtain certification as an Information and Referral Specialist (CIRS) within 3 years.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
• Strong working knowledge of computers and software programs required.
• Previous experience (in a call center or providing Information & Referral) preferred.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail at all times and an ability to plan and utilize time efficiently.
• Ability to take initiative.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must pass criminal background, CPS check & sex offender check.

• Provide quality customer service, empathetic care and informed problem-solving.
• Ensure documentation meets program standards and is timely.
• Be comfortable with multiple platforms during training.
