Job summary

CITGO Petroleum Corporation, Lemont refinery, seeks an Associate Environmental Engineer to support air compliance, data management, and regulatory reporting. You will coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Corporate Environmental to ensure adherence to federal and state requirements.

The role emphasizes environmental data handling, incident tracking, and cross‑functional communication, with daily exposure to refinery operations and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related technical discipline required.
• Zero to one year of relevant experience required.
• Experience in environmental compliance, refinery, petrochemical, or manufacturing preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SharePoint/Enablon experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a refinery environment and coordinate with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Support air compliance programs, including emissions, inspections, and reporting.
• Assist with Enablon data reporting and environmental incident reviews.
• Provide regulatory guidance on new projects and monitor regulatory changes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual environmental reports.
• Coordinate agency communications and maintain the Environmental Compliance Calendar.
