Job summary

CITGO Petroleum Corporation is seeking an Associate Environmental Engineer for the Lemont, IL refinery to support air compliance programs and environmental data management. The role focuses on regulatory reporting, agency communications, and contributing to the Environmental Management System.

It requires a relevant technical degree and up to one year of experience. The position involves coordination with Operations and Corporate Environmental, inspections, and advisory duties, with an emphasis

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related technical discipline required.
• Zero to one year of relevant experience required.
• Experience in environmental compliance, refinery, petrochemical, manufacturing, or industrial sectors preferred.
• Experience with air compliance, environmental reporting, agency correspondence, inspections, or environmental management systems preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SharePoint/Enablon or similar systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support air compliance programs (Storage Tank compliance, CEMS, RICE engines) and apply federal/state requirements with guidance.
• Assist Enablon Environmental Management System and environmental data reporting; coordinate incident reviews and reports.
• Provide regulatory guidance for air impacts, monitor regulatory changes, and assist with Environmental Operating Limits.
• Prepare routine environmental reports to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements.
