Job summary

Direct Care and Treatment in Vadnais Heights, MN is seeking an Eligibility and Authorization Specialist to secure insurance approvals before care is provided. You will work with CPA, county representatives, insurers, and clinical teams to ensure coverage and timely access to services.

The role supports the DCT Finance team, with hours typically 7:30am–4:00pm, onsite at least 50% of the time and telework on a limited basis.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in Revenue Cycle, Medical Billing, Prior Authorizations, or Utilization Management in a healthcare setting.
• Experience interpreting information to verify eligibility and communicating data clearly.
• Proficiency with payer portals and clinical/ billing systems (MMIS, Maxis, SMI, MN-ITS, Rev Connect, Connex).

Responsibilities

• Confirm insurance eligibility and initiate prior authorizations for admissions and upcoming services.
• Coordinate with CPA, counties, insurers, billing and clinical teams to secure payments.
• Educate patients and staff about authorization requirements, timelines and costs.
