Job summary

Connections-Education-4 is seeking a Washington Elementary Substitute Teacher to support learning remotely across Connections Academy schools. The role acts as teacher of record during short- or long-term absences, typically 2–20 weeks, with average assignments 8–12 weeks.

Responsibilities include staying online 8:00 am–4:00 pm in the school time zone, coordinating with families and staff, grading, reporting progress, and participating in required training.

Qualifications

• Substitutes must be highly qualified and certified elementary school teachers in Washington.
• Multiple state certifications a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Maintain a dedicated, distraction-free home working environment.
• Available Monday through Friday during assigned hours (8:00 am–4:00 pm in school time zone) for long-term assignments.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Understanding of IEP/504 plans and virtual setting implementation.
• Reliable, high-speed internet access.
• Microsoft OS- and Microsoft Office-equipped computer.
• May not work another job during normal school hours.

Responsibilities

• Be online and available to students, parents, and staff 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the school time zone.
• Communicate with parents, students and teachers to develop and update individualized learning plans and schedules.
• Complete grading, generate progress reports, and conduct parent conferences.
• Support instructional program through LiveLessons.
• Maintain student records and data up to date.
• Meet monthly with Substitute Services supervisor via video conferencing.
• Complete required professional learning and maintain active certifications.
