Job summary

Ascension seeks a Contract Curriculum Writer to develop elementary religious education content for Grades 4–8, aligned with the scope, sequence, and writing templates, and grounded in Catholic faith. You will create engaging student text, activities, and assessments for use in Catholic schools and parish programs.

The role is fully remote, temporary (January 2027–September 2027), 30–40 hours per week, reporting to the Associate General Manager.

Qualifications

• Strong writing skills with demonstrated ability to craft engaging elementary content.
• Experience developing curriculum for elementary students.
• Experience in religious education and faith formation.
• Solid grounding in Catholic faith suitable for Catholic schools and parish programs.

Responsibilities

• Write student text for Grades 4-8 that is engaging, age-appropriate, and theologically accurate.
• Develop student activities that reinforce lesson objectives and life application.
• Write assessments aligned to lesson and unit objectives.
• Write teaching text to equip teachers and catechists to lead lessons with confidence.
• Provide clear instructional guidance and discussion prompts.
• Ensure teacher materials work in Catholic school and parish settings.
• Create take-home pages to help parents reinforce content at home.
