Ascension Publishing Group is seeking a Contract Curriculum Writer to develop elementary religious education content for Grades 4–8. This fully remote, temporary role (Jan 2027–Sept 2027) requires writing within Ascension's style guidelines and NDA completion.

Reports to the Associate General Manager and collaborates with product and editorial teams. The position focuses on creating age-appropriate, theologically faithful content for Catholic schools and parish catechetical programs, including

Qualifications

• Content must be age-appropriate and theologically faithful.
• Develop activities that reinforce lesson objectives.
• Write assessments aligned to lesson and unit objectives.
• Provide teacher guidance for classroom use.
• Ensure materials work for Catholic schools and parish settings.
• Create take-home pages for ongoing faith formation.

Responsabilités

• Write student text for Grades 4-8 that is engaging, age-appropriate, and theologically accurate.
• Develop student activities aligned to lesson objectives and help children apply learnings.
• Write assessments aligned to lesson and unit objectives.
• Write teaching text to equip classroom teachers and parish catechists.
• Provide clear instructional guidance and background for teachers.
• Ensure teacher materials work in both Catholic school and parish settings.
• Write take-home pages to reinforce content at home.
• Collaborate with Curriculum Specialist to shape lesson direction and units.
• Revise manuscripts based on feedback from Editors.
• Meet component deadlines and communicate progress with the team.
• Ensure content faithfully reflects Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the Catechism.
• Exemplify Ascension values of humility, passion, and integrity.
