Job summary

Boston Government Services, LLC (BGS) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support government clients with a focus on low-voltage power distribution and MCCs. The role is fully remote with a typical Mon.–Fri. schedule and competitive benefits.

Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and security clearance eligibility. Nuclear industry experience and CAD/ETAP/EasyPower skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (industrial power background) and at least five years of experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
• Requires a U.S. DOE Q security clearance; all qualified candidates considered regardless of current clearance.
• Successful drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and document electrical designs for existing facility infrastructure and new construction projects, focusing on industrial low-voltage power distribution and MCCs.
• Perform electrical load calculations, conductor sizing, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit analysis, and arc-flash studies as required.
• Develop technical specifications for switchboards, panelboards, MCCs, transformers, and related equipment.
• Prepare design documentation detailing basis, assumptions, calculations, and decisions.
• Develop and review single-line diagrams, panel schedules, grounding plans, and installation details for construction drawings.
• Conduct field visits and on-site evaluations to verify configurations and coordinate with SMEs.
• Perform design recovery by updating drawings to reflect field conditions.
