Caterpillar's Electric Power Division is seeking an automation and controls engineer to deliver PLC/HMI solutions for generator switchgear systems across retrofit and new builds. You will run projects from concept through commissioning, collaborating with dealers, factories, and field teams.
Qualifications include a BSEE or related field, hands-on PLC/HMI experience (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens), and the ability to read schematics.
Competenze
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with automation and controls, including PLC-based systems, HMIs, and DCS.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience cross-functionally with engineers, contractors and end users.
Mansioni
- Identify retrofit opportunities, define project scope and support proposals.
- Design, programming, testing, and commissioning of low-/medium-voltage control systems.
- Convert legacy PLC programs and validate performance.
- Develop PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
- Collaborate with CAD to produce wiring and assembly drawings.
- Provide field support and escalated technical assistance.
- Train technicians, customers and internal teams on maintenance and operation.
