TWG Engineering is seeking a Distribution Designer in Shorewood, IL, offering mostly remote work with occasional site visits. You will design overhead and underground distribution systems, deliver drawings, BOMs, and calculations, and collaborate with field teams to ensure compliant, constructible results.

The role emphasizes NESC standards, CAD/GIS proficiency, and experience with pole loading analyses, supporting project budgets and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
• Three+ years of electrical distribution design experience preferred.
• Familiarity with NESC standards and utility design requirements.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS platforms.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and draft design packages for overhead and underground projects, including new feeders and equipment installations.
• Prepare sketches, cost estimates, BOMs, and other technical deliverables.
• Perform distribution design calculations, voltage drop, and pole loading evaluations.
• Conduct pole loading analyses using PoleForeman, SPIDAcalc, O-Calc, or PLS-CADD.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and field teams to validate data and develop solutions.
• Occasional site visits and assist with permitting and easement planning.
