Job summary

Armada is hiring an Electrical Design Engineer to own the electrical design for modular, containerized data centers. You will work on single-line diagrams, load calculations, grounding, and panel layouts across international LV standards, coordinating with manufacturing partners and deployment teams.

You will perform protection coordination and arc-flash studies using SKM/ETAP, review UPS and switchgear submittals, and help ensure design compliance from vendor submittals to field deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• 3–7 years of post-degree experience in electrical design, with at least 2 years in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Working knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70) and ideally IEC-based codes; multi-jurisdictional design experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with protection coordination and arc flash software (SKM, ETAP, EasyPower).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and/or Revit MEP, plus Bluebeam Revu for submittal markup.
• Familiarity with UPS systems, switchgear, transformers, and generator/ATS integration.
• Ability to read mechanical/structural drawings to catch interdisciplinary conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain electrical designs for modular containerized data centers, including single-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, grounding, and raceway layouts across LV standards.
• Run protective device coordination, arc flash, and short-circuit studies; produce labels and coordination reports for field use.
• Review vendor submittals for UPS, batteries, cooling distribution units, switchgear, PDUs, and generator/ATS; ensure compliance with specs.
• Support manufacturing partners by answering RFIs, resolving layout/piping routing conflicts, and participating in factory testing.
• Coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction on multi-jurisdictional codes and safety requirements.
• Produce engineering documentation: requirements, design memos, block diagrams, commissioning procedures.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, structural, and fire protection engineers; push back when necessary.
• Support field commissioning and occasional international travel to partner sites.
