Job summary
Caterpillar's Electric Power Division designs, develops, and implements generator control switchgear systems, delivering automation and control solutions for complex power networks. You will work both independently and with teams to execute retrofit and new system projects from concept through commissioning.
The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with dealers, factory teams, and customers, plus cross-training and field support.
Qualifications
- Experience with automation and controls in industrial environments.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience with PLC-based systems and HMIs.
Responsibilities
- Identify retrofit opportunities; define project scope with Dealer and Factory teams.
- Execute design, programming, testing, and commissioning of LV/MV generator paralleling control systems.
- Convert legacy PLC programs to modern platforms and validate performance.
- Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
- Partner with CAD designers to produce wiring and assembly drawings.
