Job summary

HireHawk Inc. seeks a Mid-Level Elder Care Attorney to guide elderly clients and families through Medicaid planning, Crisis Care, and related elder-law matters. You will independently manage cases from intake to resolution, delivering practical legal guidance in emotionally complex, time-sensitive situations.

The role is primarily remote, with about one day per week in the Hauppauge office and travel to serve clients across New York City's five boroughs. Brooklyn-based applicants are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active New York State Bar admission.
• Experience in Elder Law.
• Hands-on Medicaid planning experience.
• Experience with Crisis Care and Crisis Medicaid planning.
• Experience advising elderly clients and families on long-term care and Medicaid needs.
• Ability to independently manage client matters and provide direct guidance.
• Willingness to travel to Hauppauge weekly and serve NYC boroughs.

Responsibilities

• Own and independently manage elder-law matters involving Medicaid planning and Crisis Medicaid planning.
• Guide elderly clients and families through urgent care and Medicaid decisions with clear, practical legal advice.
• Develop Medicaid planning strategies based on client circumstances.
• Manage Crisis Care and Crisis Medicaid matters with timely planning and support.
• Conduct consultations and explain Medicaid and elder-law requirements clearly.
• Advise on estates documents: wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives.
• Maintain organized case files, deadlines, and client communications.
