Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Officer with a focus on cleaning and sanitation to support multiple sites remotely. You will develop, implement, and monitor safety policies for cleaning operations, perform remote risk assessments, deliver training, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in EHS, strong knowledge of relevant legislation, and experience in hygiene management and chemical handling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., NOSA, NEBOSH) is desirable.
• Minimum of 4 years of Environmental Health and Safety experience focusing on cleaning operations or hygiene management.
• Strong knowledge of national EHS legislation and standards.
• Experience delivering EHS training and leading remote guidance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and update EHS policies for cleaning and sanitation operations.
• Conduct remote risk assessments and site hygiene audits.
• Provide guidance to on-site cleaning teams and management on EHS matters.
• Deliver EHS training on cleaning protocols, chemical handling, and emergency procedures.
• Investigate incidents and near misses; identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant EHS regulations and industry standards.
• Maintain EHS records including training logs and incident reports.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies as required.
• Promote safety culture through remote communication with staff.
