Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Edifecs EDI Analyst Transaction Specialist for a 100% remote U.S. based role supporting VA operations. The role requires 8+ years of Edifecs EDI/HIPAA experience, a Bachelor's degree, and a Public Trust (MBI) clearance.

You will own EDI workflows, troubleshoot X12 transactions, and work with AS2/SFTP/HTTPS flows, ensuring data quality and compliance across partner systems and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Edifecs product experience in EDI/healthcare or enterprise operations.
• 8+ years of EDI/HIPAA experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own functional EDI workflows, partner requirements, and data validation rules.
• Ensure accurate transaction processing and support business operations.
• Interpret and troubleshoot transaction sets: 270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, 999/277CA.
• Analyze SNIP compliance, companion guides, and partner-specific validation rules.
• Document mapping/logical requirements for new partners and integration changes.
• Partner with stakeholders for issue resolution and operational impact assessments.
• Support audit/compliance reviews and maintain data quality guardrails.
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps Engineers, Cloud teams, and business teams.
• Work with AS2, SFTP, and HTTPS flows with integration specialists.
• Validate data to/from non-X.12 partners; review SQL-stored data.
• Identify issues from Edifecs routes, profiles, or rulesets.
• Interpret Edifecs logs and error codes (functional level).
• Explain architecture decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
• Translate business reporting needs into technical data models.
• Drive ambiguous architecture decisions to resolution; follow Agile methodologies.
