Job summary

UC Santa Cruz seeks an Economics Undergraduate Advisor to deliver prescriptive academic guidance to economics majors, minors and concentrations. The role plans student schedules, interprets degree requirements, and collaborates with registrar and advising staff to ensure timely degree completion.

This fully remote, full-time position follows a fixed telecommuting schedule with occasional trainings. Budgeted salary is $31.73-$36.40 hourly, with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
• Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to multi-task, organize, and meet deadlines.
• Cross-cultural competency and interpersonal skills for diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Advises Economics majors, minors and concentrations on degree progress and requirements.
• Plans and adjusts student schedules to minimize conflicts and maximize time to degree.
• Acts as liaison with registrar, faculty and other advising units as needed.
• Prepares training materials and contributes to departmental best practices.
