Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Data Cloud Engineer for a long-term federal modernization program focused on enterprise cloud data solutions within secure DoD environments. This fully remote role is based out of Fort Meade, VA and requires an active Secret clearance.

The engineer will modernize the program’s data infrastructure, enable analytics-ready datasets, and collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, DevOps, and software teams to meet RMF and FedRAMP requirements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building scalable data pipelines with cloud technologies.
• Hands-on PySpark development and Spark SQL optimization required.
• Experience with structured and unstructured data ingestion and CDC.
• Security clearances and DoD RMF/ STIG compliance knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines in the cloud.
• Build scalable data pipelines using Azure Synapse, Databricks, AWS Glue.
• Develop ingestion frameworks for structured and unstructured data.
• Implement full and incremental data loads including CDC and rerunnable pipelines.
• Design cloud data lakes/warehouses for enterprise reporting.
• Enforce data quality, schema validation, and governance controls.
• Monitor pipelines, logs, alerts; ensure reliability and performance.
• Support CI/CD, automated deployments, and environment promotions.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and DevOps for RMF/DoD security.
