Job summary

Locked Core Tech, LLC is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Specialist to support Naval Medical Center San Diego remotely. The role emphasizes RMF, vulnerability management, patching, and ongoing compliance with DoD, NIST, and FIPS standards.

The ideal candidate brings DoD IA expertise, strong Communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fully remote setup during business hours. Occasional travel may be required for meetings or audits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience applying cybersecurity or Information Assurance (IA) principles within a DoD environment.
• CISSP certification or DoD-approved equivalent certification.
• Ability to qualify for and maintain an IAT Level II position in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M and DoD 8140 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform cybersecurity scanning and vulnerability assessments on networked devices.
• Apply security patches, updates, and configuration changes to maintain compliance and mitigate risk.
• Coordinate RMF activities and develop RMF documentation and authorization packages.
• Support vulnerability management, remediation tracking, and POA&M development.
• Conduct security inspections and collaborate with teams to strengthen security posture.
