Job summary

ACU-Serve seeks a DME Documentation Specialist for remote full-time work in the US. You will manage medical documentation to support medical necessity, obtain and maintain prior authorizations and CMNs, and ensure accurate coding and billing for DME items including oxygen and sleep therapy.

You should have 1 year of DME billing experience, knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid, and strong MS Word/Excel skills. Excellent communication and attention to detail are essential in a fast-paced team

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in durable medical billing and insurance verification.
• Experience with DME intake processes including prior authorizations.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers policies.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with HCPC documentation requirements.
• Strong MS Word and Excel skills, good keyboarding.

Responsibilities

• Collect, review and request medical documentation to support medical necessity for prior authorization.
• Submit and maintain prior authorizations and CMNs.
• Request documentation to support ongoing medical necessity for DME.
• Handle medical equipment orders including oxygen and sleep therapy.
• Create and update CMNs in DME billing software.
• Review CMNs and medical records for accuracy and completeness.
• Resolve held revenue by processing stop holds and communicating with payers.
