Job summary

Netflix is seeking a Distributed Systems Engineer to evolve our infrastructure as we scale toward 500 million contributors globally. You will work on the records infrastructure group, building and maintaining data pipelines and storage systems that power Netflix’s streaming, games, and original content.

Applicants should have 5+ years of experience with massive-scale distributed systems, strong RESTful design, and proficiency in Java; Python/Scala is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience building massive-scale distributed systems.
• Strong design and implementation experience in RESTful web services.

Responsibilities

• Develop the data plane and control plane for large-scale distributed data systems.
• Ensure reliability and availability of data stores across multiple products.
• Design and implement abstracted, self-service data pipelines that support low-latency access.
• Work with Kafka, Flink, Dynomite (Redis), EVCache (Memcached), Cassandra, and CockroachDB.
• Automate operations, improve reliability, and increase predictability of data services.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and TPMs to drive end-to-end initiatives.
• Share learnings with the open-source community and contribute to Netflix OSS.
