Job summary

Sika is seeking a Director of Process Technology for Thermoplastics in the USA. This full-time role leads strategic engineering and construction for capital projects over $50MM, across US production sites, with responsibility for budget, schedule, and quality.

The ideal candidate will mentor teams and manage internal/external resources to deliver results. Qualifications include a BS in Engineering, 10+ years in chemical manufacturing (automation/control), PMP, and Six Sigma benefits.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical) or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in chemical manufacturing, including automation and control systems.
• Proven track record in managing engineering activities in chemical processing plants, preferably construction chemicals (concrete polymers, cementitious systems, coatings, adhesives, and membranes).
• Experience in Industrial Planning and Design, including Process Optimization.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and guidelines; ability to prepare and maintain required documentation.
• Project leadership and budgeting experience; proficiency in design, validation, risk and change management; PMP certification required; Six Sigma certification is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, Procurement, Marketing, Sales, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering and project objectives, plans, and budgets for projects such as new production plants, lines, and process upgrades.
• Provide inputs to Masterplans and make strategic decisions affecting engineering and manufacturing.
• Ensure technical stewardship of engineering activities and drive quality standards for products and processes.
• Direct internal and external resources to deliver on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and build strong project-team relationships.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop test plans to validate compliance.
• Work with EH&S to ensure regulatory compliance and permit requirements.
