Job summary

Zodl (Zcash Open Development Lab) is seeking a Director of Security to lead security incident response, governance, and external collaboration. You will maintain high security standards, coordinate with engineering and research leads, and guide cryptographic assurance across Zcash technologies.

You will supervise security policy, staff onboarding, external audits, and threat modeling while ensuring regulatory compliance and protection of staff and assets in a distributed, remote-first

Qualifications

• Commitment to users’ privacy and cypherpunk ethos.
• Experience with open-source software development and security of protocols to specs.
• Hands-on experience with modern languages similar to Rust/Swift/Kotlin/Go.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and improve security incident response processes.
• Communicate security flaws and mitigations to communities with precision and timeliness.
• Build and maintain relationships with external security assessors and partners.
• Manage security-related infrastructure, budget, and policy documentation.
• Onboard/offboard staff to security procedures and access controls.
