Job summary

ZenBusiness seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the Enterprise Platform and Integrations team, shaping API strategy, and partner experiences. You will guide a pod of engineers, align technical roadmaps with business goals, and deliver reliable, scalable integrations for external partners.

The role requires strong leadership, deep API expertise, and the ability to translate partner needs into sustainable technical solutions across platforms, pricing, and fulfillment workflows.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading software engineering teams, including managers and senior engineers.
• Experience designing, building, or operating external APIs and enterprise integration platforms.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, event-driven architecture, authentication, API gateways, versioning, and integration security.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to translate business needs to technical solutions.
• Proven track record delivering complex integrations across multiple internal systems and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team supporting Platform APIs and partner integrations.
• Set ownership, expectations, and career development plans for the API pod.
• Define engineering practices for planning, design reviews, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate with Product and business leaders to build realistic roadmaps and manage tradeoffs.
• Guide partner integrations from design through go-live, ensuring reliability and scalable patterns.
• Establish standards for API versioning, change management, and release communication.
• Drive delivery excellence with measurable reliability and partner-focused success.
