BARNES Aerospace is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our North America new-make and repair engineering teams. This executive will oversee OE production, NPI, product and process engineering, tooling, automation, and sustaining support across multiple sites while aligning with global engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in aerospace or highly engineered manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites.
• Experience leading activities across facilities in a matrix organization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical-writing, and executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deploy regional engineering leadership with a defined, scalable organization and accountability.
• Provide technical leadership for new product introductions, review processes, tooling, and manufacturing readiness.
• Coach and retain an inclusive engineering culture with clear career paths and succession plans.
• Review regional resource planning, risk management, and program reviews; handle escalations.
• Deliver credible technical estimates, milestone plans, and customer-facing status with program teams.
• Own regional operating model, capability roadmap, and governance of investment priorities.
• Advocate manufacturing excellence and automation initiatives to improve yield, throughput, and cost.
• Establish engineering quality and compliance; ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, FAA/EASA requirements; lead regional escalations.
• Represent regional engineering in customer, OEM, supplier, and partner discussions to support growth.
