Job summary

Mosaic is seeking a Director of Communications & Strategic Initiatives to lead external communications and strategic planning across fundraising and program outcomes. The role reports to the CEO and supports organizational planning while ensuring collaboration across staff teams.

You will drive the annual communications strategy, oversee brand, produce funder-facing materials, and coordinate with development for funder engagement, while guiding key initiatives and transparency.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in a communications or related support role.
• Experience in a dynamic, startup-like environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent oral, written, and visual communications skills.
• Ability to represent the organization professionally with discretion.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration across teams.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Google Workspace, and data storytelling.
• Prior experience with Mosaic is preferred.
• Salesforce experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops and leads the annual communications strategy aligned with the mission.
• Manages Mosaic's brand and external communication channels.
• Produces funder- and field-facing materials.
• Supports field catalyst work through thought leadership and grantee communications.
• Cultivates partnerships with communication professionals.
• Supervises communications contracts, budgets, tools, and licenses.
• Collaborates with development on funder engagement journeys.
• Supports leadership council communications and transparency.
• Co-designs strategic initiatives like anniversaries and funder convenings.
