Job summary

Aypa Power LLC is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead core accounting functions, ensure close accuracy, and strengthen internal controls for a growing renewable energy company. The role partners with FP&A, Tax, and operations to deliver timely financial reporting and scalable processes.

The successful candidate will manage intercompany and debt accounting, leases, and fixed assets, while driving automation and policy standardization across multiple entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Active CPA license.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience in multi-entity environments, including consolidations, intercompany accounting, and elimination entries.
• Experience managing the month-end close process and balance sheet reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Own intercompany billing and intercompany loan accounting at the corporate level; partner with Financial Reporting on elimination entries and the consolidated close.
• Oversee corporate debt accounting, including the corporate credit facility, debt accruals, and interest allocation across entities.
• Oversee interest rate swap and other derivative journal entries, serving as the primary liaison with outside hedge accounting specialists.
• Oversee lease accounting and fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and related system administration.
• Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, driving continuous improvements to shorten timelines and enhance reporting quality.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions and journal entries and maintain the integrity of the chart of accounts and general ledger structure.
• Oversee the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules, improving quality, standardization, and documentation.
• Perform analytical reviews and investigate unusual fluctuations and variances.
• Maintain a strong internal control environment across core accounting processes.
• Support quarterly and annual financial reporting, annual audits, and tax and regulatory reporting requirements.
