Job summary

Society Insurance in Fond du Lac, WI is seeking a Director - Accounting & Controller to lead all accounting operations, statutory and financial reporting, and internal controls. The role oversees cash management, tax reporting, audits, and the close process, partnering with the VP – Finance to drive accuracy, governance, and strategic insight.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with leadership responsibility.
• Minimum 5 years in people leadership overseeing accounting/financial reporting.
• CPA designation and strong SAP/financial systems experience.
• Solid knowledge of SAP, US GAAP, and statutory reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct all accounting operations including financial statements, general ledger, and statutory reporting.
• Oversee cash management, tax reporting, audits, and external/regulator liaison.
• Lead controllership, internal controls, risk remediation, and performance metrics.
• Drive finance transformation, close optimization, and reporting automation.
• Coach and develop a high-performing accounting team for career growth.
