Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Director - Network Engineer to lead the network strategy and roadmap, guiding the Network Operations, Engineering, and Architecture teams. This remote role requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and will focus on delivering high-quality network services with automation and cloud integration.

You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, ensure on-time delivery within budget, and drive improvements in reliability, security, and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience required.
• Experience leading and developing teams of high-performing engineering professionals in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of modern enterprise networking architectures, resiliency design, SRE, security, observability, and performance optimization.
• Practical experience supporting public, private, and hybrid cloud environments with knowledge of AWS, Azure, cloud networking, security, connectivity, and infrastructure services; strong FedRAMP and NIST framework understanding.
• Knowledge of automation, DevOps, Agile, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-native networking concepts.
• Networking technologies including WAN, LAN, Wireless, Routing, Switching, Security, Firewalls, NAC, SD-WAN, SASE, and monitoring platforms.
• ITIL processes and service management with SLAs and performance metrics.
• Translating network strategy into scalable, enterprise-wide solutions and outcomes.
• Ability to influence senior leadership and drive cross-functional initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of the network services strategy and roadmap to support business objectives and modernization initiatives.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to a team of network engineers.
• Ensure successful delivery of network services initiatives within timelines and budget.
• Monitor service performance and operational metrics to improve reliability and customer experience.
• Champion automation, Agile, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
• Evolve network technologies to drive innovation and security across platforms.
