Job summary

Takeda is seeking a Director, Field Medical – Rheumatology, East to lead and coach a team of Medical Science Liaisons. You will drive external scientific engagement with KOLs, HCPs, and healthcare entities while guiding cross‑functional collaboration and ensuring alignment with Takeda US Medical priorities.

You will travel 40–60% in the East region, develop the annual tactical plan, and oversee budget and training to ensure scientific excellence and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in life/health sciences preferred (PharmD, MD, PhD) or equivalent; Master’s degree minimum.
• Extensive experience in pharmaceutical industry and Medical Affairs.
• Proven leadership, teamwork, innovation, and project management skills.
• Experience as an MSL or similar scientific role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of MSLs to align with US Medical strategic priorities.
• Ensure team performance, training, and execution of the medical plan.
• Develop and implement annual team tactical plan after approvals.
• Oversee field engagement with KOLs/HCPs and document insights.
• Manage team budget and use Takeda systems for coaching and reporting.
• Foster collaboration with cross‑functional partners and internal stakeholders.
• Provide scientific training and ensure compliant, ethical practices.
