Job summary

American Cancer Society seeks a Director to lead the Distinguished Events portfolio with a multimillion-dollar fundraising target. This fully remote role can be based anywhere in the U.S. and partners with leadership to maximize revenue and engagement.

You will coach staff, guide enterprise-wide initiatives, and collaborate with marketing and operations to develop training and resources. Travel is required including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years fundraising experience in a large nonprofit setting.
• Preference for diversified income portfolio experience with a multi-million-dollar organization.

Responsibilities

• Coaches and supports staff managing and influencing fundraising events on core revenue drivers including volunteer leadership, sponsorship, event experience, and stewardship.
• Leads and manages program specific enterprise-wide projects and initiatives including staff partner support to leadership volunteer teams.
• Partners with the marketing and operations team to use data/insights, develop training, collateral, and resources to ensure achievement of goals.
• Drives a donor-centric approach to revenue generation by cultivating and stewarding high-value relationships, leveraging consistent engagement strategies and shared portfolio management practices across markets.
• Serves as a strategic advisor to market and event leadership on budgets and forecasting, ensuring strong ROI and achievement of top- and bottom-line goals.
• Partners with the enterprise development leaders to develop revenue growth strategies, ensuring alignment across functions and integration with broader organizational priorities.
