Job summary

Ionis is seeking a Director of Commercial Data Management & Governance to lead how commercial data is governed across systems. You will establish a trusted semantic layer and partner with IT and commercial teams to ensure reliable, compliant data for analytics and reporting.

The role reports to the Executive Director, Commercial Effectiveness and Omnichannel Operations, and supports remote work with a preference for Boston, MA. Strong leadership and data governance expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience standing up a new data governance function.
• Strong knowledge of CRM, data warehouse, and analytics platforms.
• Ability to translate business needs into practical data requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of the commercial data governance program.
• Own data quality, lineage, metadata, and privacy controls across systems.
• Collaborate with IT and commercial teams to translate needs into governance standards.
• Establish decision rights and a governance council with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ensure analytics readiness and compliance for launches and ongoing operations.
