Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Director of Clinical Development to guide global clinical development strategy for surgical device programs from concept through post-market. You will serve as the clinical voice in regulatory submissions and evidence generation, shaping development decisions, market access, and commercialization plans.

Location: Remote - US-based candidates only. Compensation: $165,000–$215,000 annually.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a clinical or biomedical science discipline (MD/OD/PhD or equivalent).
• 7+ years in medical device clinical development, especially ophthalmic surgery.
• Proven record of leading global clinical strategy and regulatory submissions for surgical devices.
• Strong knowledge of GCP, ISO 14155, and global medical device regulations.
• Experience with pivotal and post-market studies, registries, and real-world evidence strategies.
• Strategic thinker with knowledge of market access and evidence generation; label expansion a plus.
• Strong leadership and project management in global teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead global clinical development strategies for surgical device programs from concept through post-market.
• Act as clinical lead for global regulatory submissions and regulatory alignment.
• Design and oversee clinical trials across multiple markets, from feasibility to pivotal studies.
• Align clinical research priorities with organizational goals for evidence delivery.
• Develop and author regulatory and clinical documents, including protocols and submission dossiers.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate clinical insights into development and marketing strategies.
• Engage with key opinion leaders and external stakeholders to strengthen the company’s position in ophthalmology.
