Job summary

Company 3 is seeking a Digital Matte Painter in a remote role based in Vancouver, BC. The candidate will paint photoreal environments for live action plates or matte paintings, using 2D and 3D techniques to match the look of the sequence.

The role requires expertise in Photoshop, Nuke, and related VFX tools, with a strong eye for light, color, and perspective. Experience with Houdini, Maya, or Blender is considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Expert working knowledge of Photoshop, Nuke and other applicable VFX software.
• Experience creating photorealistic digital paintings based on concept art and photo reference.
• Strong understanding of light, color and perspective; excellent artistic communication.

Responsibilities

• Paint photoreal environments and landscapes to match live action plates or stand as matte paintings.
• Create environment, character, and FX concept art within the feature film production timeline.
• Set up and apply 3D projection in Nuke and Maya; create and publish slap‑comp in Nuke.
