Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Lifestyle Coach to guide members with Type 2 Diabetes through telephonic and chat coaching, coordinating with dietitians and nurses to support sustainable health changes.

Responsibilities include conducting 15-30 minute sessions, tailoring based on Time in Range and Change stage, and employing motivational interviewing to achieve meaningful outcomes. Remote work across the U.S. is supported.

Qualifications

• NBC-HWC credential or in pursuit thereof.
• 1+ year coaching/behavior change experience with results.
• Experience coaching groups and individuals virtually.
• Healthcare environment with HIPAA compliance experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (preferred).
• Additional wellness certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured coaching sessions via phone and chat.
• Tailor sessions by member tenure, Time in Range, and Change stage.
• Apply motivational interviewing and behavior-change techniques.
• Identify strengths, resources, and barriers for members.
• Guide goal-setting with measurable health outcomes.
• Conduct 15-30 minute telephonic coaching sessions using evidence-based info.
