Job summary

Niyam IT, based in Ashburn, VA, is seeking a DevOps/MLOps Engineer to design, automate, and maintain scalable infrastructure and deployment pipelines supporting both software and AI/ML lifecycles.

The ideal candidate has strong DevOps, cloud-native expertise, and experience in regulated environments, collaborating with software engineers, data scientists, and cybersecurity teams. This full-time role offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Candidates must be US citizens and able to obtain a Public Trust.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of DevOps/SRE/MLOps experience in enterprise or mission-critical systems.
• Hands-on CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for both application code and AI/ML models across development, testing, and production environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using IaC to ensure consistency and scalability.
• Manage and optimize cloud-based environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) for high availability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency.
• Implement and manage containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) to support scalable deployments.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability using centralized logging and metrics; identify bottlenecks and resolve issues.
• Ensure seamless code and model promotion across dev/test/stage/prod through automated workflows and release management.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to operationalize ML models with versioning, reproducibility, and delivery pipelines.
• Enforce security best practices across the DevOps lifecycle, including secure configurations and federal standards compliance.
• Support SRE practices, including incident response and root cause analysis to improve resilience.
• Document infrastructure, pipelines, and procedures to support maintainability and auditability.
