Job summary

Praestolari, a national nonprofit focused on accompaniment for people affected by incarceration, seeks a mission-driven Director of Development to build its first long-term fundraising program. This fully remote role reports to the Executive Director and centers on relationship-based philanthropy, donor engagement, and sustainable giving.

The successful candidate will lead strategy, major gifts, foundations, and communications, collaborating with leadership to translate Praestolari’s mission

Qualifications

• Five or more years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
• Proven track record cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts from individual donors.
• Experience developing and implementing fundraising strategies.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and work remotely.
• Experience using donor databases, CRM systems, and research tools.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Alignment with Praestolari values and mission.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
• Manage major gifts and individual giving programs.
• Secure foundation and corporate funding.
• Oversee development communications and case for support.
• Run development operations and reporting.
• Partner with the board and executive leadership.
