Job summary

Ironclad is seeking a software engineer for the Developer Productivity team to build and maintain tooling that accelerates engineers from idea to production. You will own improvements from investigation to rollout, focusing on local development environments, builds, tests, and release automation.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of software engineering experience, including internships or significant projects.
• Clear communication and strong collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, with Go or Python as a plus.
• Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD concepts.
• Comfort with shell scripting and the command line.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or SRE practices such as monitoring and incident response.
• Cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Familiarity with Webpack, Jest, Vitest, Bazel, or Backstage.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain tooling for engineers’ local development environments.
• Make builds and tests faster and more reliable, and troubleshoot CI failures.
• Improve Kubernetes tooling so product teams can make routine application changes independently.
• Develop catalog entries, templates, and plugins for Backstage developer portal.
• Support releases through Kargo and improve release automation.
• Join the team’s support rotation: help engineers, document solutions, and turn recurring problems into tooling improvements.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
