Job summary

Ironclad is hiring for a Developer Productivity engineer in San Francisco. You will own local development tooling, build and test systems, and release automation while collaborating with fellow engineers.

The role emphasizes practical engineering, small, effective improvements, and owning scoped initiatives from investigation through rollout. You will work with TypeScript/JavaScript, Go or Python, and Kubernetes/Docker on GCP.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript, plus Go or Python.
• Shell scripting and command line familiarity.
• Knowledge of Git and CI/CD concepts.
• Interest in developer tooling and improving engineer productivity.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain tooling for local development environments.
• Improve build/tests speed and reliability; fix CI failures.
• Enhance Kubernetes tooling for autonomous product changes.
• Develop catalog entries, templates, and plugins for Backstage portal.
• Support releases through Kargo and improve release automation.
• Participate in code reviews and engineering discussions.
