Job summary

Axe Recruiting is helping a client rebuild production-grade desktop software as an AI-native Electron app. You will own the desktop experience, from native OS integrations to real-time collaboration, ensuring performance and stability on macOS and Windows.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on Electron production apps, strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, and experience with React or similar UI frameworks. You will work remotely in most locations with hybrid options in select regions.

Qualifications

• Proven software engineer with desktop app experience.
• Strong JS/TS background and React familiarity.
• Hands-on production Electron apps experience.

Responsibilities

• Ship and maintain cross-platform desktop app built on Electron.
• Build real-time collaboration interfaces that scale with usage.
• Deliver native desktop features: file access, notifications, deep links, auto-update.
• Integrate AI chat/assistants via backend APIs.
• Minimize startup time, memory footprint and Electron overhead.
