Danville Community College seeks an Adjunct Instructor of Dental Assisting to teach online or in-person courses and support the program with hands-on laboratory instruction. The role involves coordinating with the program coordinator and applying infection control, radiography, and dental materials knowledge in a college setting.

Responsibilities include evaluating student performance, maintaining lab equipment, and using Canvas and Microsoft Office to support instruction.

Formación

• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical dental assisting experience.
• Strong knowledge of dental procedures, radiography and infections control standards.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adjust to change, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks as needed.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of administrators, faculty, staff, and students.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver hands‑on instruction in dental assisting procedures, including chairside assisting, instrument transfer, radiography techniques, dental materials, and infection control practices.
• Evaluate and assess student performance through skills assessments, laboratory demonstrations, clinical observations, and other appropriate evaluation methods.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback and support to help students develop clinical knowledge, technical skills, and professional competencies.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and inventory, and communicate equipment or supply needs to the Program Coordinator.
• Collaborate with program faculty to ensure laboratory and clinical instruction aligns with curriculum goals and student learning outcomes.
• Teach day, evening, online, laboratory, and clinical courses, as assigned based on program needs.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, participation, grades, and other required documentation.
• Utilize Microsoft Office, Canvas, and other college-supported technologies to enhance instruction and support student success.
