Job summary

Nova 401(k) Associates seeks a Team Leader for the Defined Benefit (DB) Team to guide a group of actuaries and DB specialists. You will drive team performance, staff development, client service quality, and continuous improvement across DB and combo plan work.

The role requires 10+ years of retirement plan experience and 5+ years in supervision, with credentials such as NIPA/ASPPA/EA/ASA preferred. Responsibilities include coaching, policy shaping, and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 10+ years retirement plan industry experience.
• 5+ years supervisory/management experience.
• Bachelor's degree; actuarial science/mathematics/finance/Accounting/business preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRC, regulations including 401(a)(4) requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 10–15 actuaries and DB specialists with performance oversight.
• Model Nova values and policies, reinforce expectations, align work with goals.
• Develop team members through coaching, training, and feedback year-round.
• Collaborate with Combo AM, Sales, and leadership; escalate complex issues.
• Stay current with new regulations and proposed legislation.
• Coordinate Nova's broker cash balance plan external webinar.
• Oversee DB plan termination and streamline related processes.
• Manage client projects by prioritising, communicating progress and ensuring timely deliverables.
• Other duties as required.
