Job summary

OptionMetrics, a New York-based tech leader in financial information and analytics, seeks a seasoned Database Administrator to manage MSSQL and PostgreSQL systems. You will optimize queries, design stored procedures, and ensure secure, reliable deployments using AWS services and Git/GitHub.

Responsibilities include backup/recovery planning, data warehouse support, and cross-functional collaboration with developers and IT teams. Remote in the US or hybrid from NYC/Miami options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator, focusing on MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong proficiency in SQL query optimization and performance tuning.
• Expertise in designing and maintaining complex stored procedures, triggers, and views.
• Experience in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of PostgreSQL databases.
• Understanding and practical experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, and S3).
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Knowledge of database security principles and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring stability, availability, and performance.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries to improve performance.
• Design and maintain complex stored procedures, triggers, and views.
• Install, configure, and monitor PostgreSQL databases.
• Implement database security measures, including access controls and encryption.
• Develop backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
• Utilize AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3) for deployments, monitoring, and scaling.
• Collaborate with developers and system admins to resolve issues.
• Use Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Assist in data warehouse design and ETL processes.
