Northrop Grumman is seeking a Data Security Engineer to support data access controls within our Databricks Lakehouse environment. You will implement and maintain an auditable access model with Unity Catalog, while collaborating with data engineers and platform teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on security, IaC with Terraform, and governance-driven practices across AWS IAM and RBAC/ABAC concepts. Location preference is Falls Church VA, with remote work possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, data engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of related experience; Master’s degree optional with 3 years experience.
• Familiarity with RBAC/ABAC access control concepts and cloud IAM.
• Experience with Databricks, Unity Catalog, and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of the Databricks access control model.
• Manage data structures, permissions, and tagging within Unity Catalog.
• Maintain security controls for sensitive data, including filtered/masked access.
• Keep access controls managed as code using Terraform.
• Partner with admins and platform teams to align controls across the environment.
• Support audits, reporting, and documentation related to data access.
