Job summary

Kani Solutions Inc. is seeking a remote analytics/BI data scientist to build dashboards, define KPIs, and deliver AI-driven insights from governed data. You will create agent workflows and Slack alerts to answer business questions, collaborating with executives and a data scientist.

The role focuses on downstream data products, analytics, and automated intelligence delivery across Slack channels and dashboards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in analytics, BI, or data science
• Strong SQL and data modeling
• Working Python for automation, integrations, and analysis
• Comfort with version control, APIs, and reading and debugging code
• Hands-on experience with AI tools (LLM APIs, prompt design, or agent workflows)

Job description

Contract Type: 40 hours per week (12 Month Contract)

Location: Remote U.S. (PST preferred); however, we are open to candidates located in EST/CST time zones and Canada.

• Reports into [hiring manager / department]; works closely with our one data scientist.
• The data scientist owns data ingestion, Databricks pipelines, and machine learning. This hire owns everything downstream: curated datasets, metric definitions, Tableau, and AI-driven insight delivery.
• This is not a pipeline engineering or machine learning role.

Must-haves

• 5+ years in analytics, BI, or data science
• Strong SQL and data modeling
• Working Python for automation, integrations, and analysis
• Comfort with version control, APIs, and reading and debugging code (generated or hand-written)
• Hands-on experience with AI tools (LLM APIs, prompt design, or agent workflows)
• Strong communication with executives and business teams

Nice-to-haves

• Databricks (SQL, notebooks) or similar cloud data platforms
• MCP or other tool-connection standards
• Tableau Cloud, Pulse, or Next; Salesforce or CRM analytics
• Slackbot, Slack workflows, or building agents in Slack
• Experience testing or evaluating AI output for accuracy
